Awaken to a sense of mission. Daisaku Ikeda.

"What purpose will bring us the most happiness? To do, create or contribute something that benefits others, society and ourselves," says SGI President Ikeda, "and to dedicate ourselves as long as we live to that challenge - that is a life of true satisfaction, a life of value. It is a humanistic and lofty way to live."

"THOSE WHO HAVE SUFFERED THE MOST WILL BECOME THE HAPPIEST' -Daisaku Ikeda

SGI Ikeda Sensei addressing  the 34th Soka Gakkai Headquarters Leaders Meeting in Tokyo Nov 14 2009 said
"No matter what happens in the course of our lives, we can be certain of ultimate victory because of the wondrous power of the Mystic Law to 'change poison into medicine.' Therefore, no matter how painful your situation might be right now, or how sick you might be, or how others might be bullying or tormenting you, you can win in the end. You can be a victor without fail. This is the heart of the Daishonin's Buddhism. It is the purpose of our Buddhist practice. In stark contrast, all the spiteful individuals who may be giving you a hard time now will reap the negative consequences of their actions in accord with the strict law of cause and effect.
"Buddhism is about showing actual proof of victory. That's why we must keep striving wholeheartedly Let's all lead wonderful lives!"

Do Nichiren Buddhist Believe in God?

This is an excerpt of an article by Greg Martin that appeared in the Feb 2004 Living Buddhism magazine (pp. 6-8).

Yet, in spite of the prevalence of religiosity in America, the escalating crime rate, rampant drug addiction, epidemic mental illness, and revival of the death penalty, are not signs of a spiritually healthy society.

wisdom and knowledge- Daisaku Ikeda

A Buddha is characterized as a person of profound wisdom. The idea of wisdom is core to Buddhism. But wisdom can be a vague and elusive concept, hard to define and harder to find. Is wisdom something that we can actively develop, or must we merely wait to grow wiser as we grow older? Perhaps it is because wisdom is such an indistinct concept that it has lost value as a relevant ideal in modern society, which has instead come to place great store in information and the attainment of knowledge.

Theresa Kachindamoto, the senior chief in the Dedza District of Central Malawi, wields power over  900,000 people… and she’s in fact not afraid to use her authority to help the women and girls in her district.
