The cholera outbreak and chikungunya in northeastern Kenya is so alaming that Doctors have describe it as very serious-a strain in the local health services in Kenya.
In Mandera County, 12 deaths from cholera have been reported since April, the outbreak has been ongoing for about 17 months, according to Doctors Without Borders, Almost 800 cases have been reported during this period, concentrated in Mandera township.
Chikungunya, a mosquito-borne illness causing high fever, joint pain and headache, is affecting even medical personnel, about 80 percent of hospital staff are infected.
The Kenyan Ministry of Health has reported more than 15,000 cholera cases nationwide since the outbreak began in late 2014. US President Barack Obama has his roots in Kenya, cholera,Chikungunya is killing the people.
