Rubbish collector grabbed for raping a disabled woman


A rubbish collectorJulius Abbey,  has been arraigned before an Accra court for allegedly raping a 23-year-old paralyzed woman by the court presided over by Judge Isaac Addo.

According to the prosecution, Abbey, living at the Achimota market, a suburb of Accra, goes to the victim’s house to collect rubbish. Chief Inspector (C/I) Gregory Yeboah told the court that on Saturday, February 4, 2017, the mother of the victim, went out early in the morning, leaving her son and the victim in the room.
Abbey got to the house of the victim with the aim of collecting rubbish and sent the little boy in the house on an errand. The prosecutor said that Abbey subsequently had sexual intercourse with the victim and managed to escape, the victim later informed her mother about the incident and the mother alerted the police.
Abbey was  arrested after a medical form was given to the mother to take her daughter to the hospital for her to be examined and treated.
