SGI-Ghana Young women Division Celebrations -Kumasi

The young women division of the Soka Gakkai International-Ghana in Kumasi held their 65th anniversary at the Soka Gakkai International culture center at Meduma in Kumasi.

Soka Gakkai International-Ghana is a Buddhist organization whose aim is promoting Peace, Culture and Education based  on the life-affirming Philosophy of Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism. SOKA GAKKAI is a Japanese word meaning value-creating society implying that members of this noble organization should create value for themselves and others.
The young women division of the Soka Gakkai was formed by Mr. Josei Toda, the second president of the Soka  Gakkai in Japan in July 1951.

“Everyone in the Soka Gakkai’s young women’s division should become happy down to the last member. The history of women up to today has consisted of women grieving over their destinies. You are young women who embrace Nichiren Daishonin’sBuddhism. You need not grieve over your destinies any longer. This hinges, however, on the condition that you carry through with a pure, strong faith throughout your lives. Praying that each one of you will attain happiness". President Toda said.

President Toda's wish was that the young women's division members would become as beautiful as flowers and proud as the sun"-the fresh ideal women they would become as they carried out their human revolution.
Human reveolution is the benefits of chanting NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO, the buddhist prayer that enables individuals to have the strong will power to control the negetivity within them and come out with the postive aspect of life to hermonise with others in peace. Chanting help us to change the negetive aspect of our life so that the positive ones are enhanced for our happiness and that of others. Every life has both negetive and positive functions within it.

The leader of the Kumasi  young women division Afua Agyeiwaa Danso, a medical doctor led Gongyo and the meeting to a very successful end.
