Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo hails Buddhism at Young Men's Day Celebrations

The young men division of Soka Gakkai International-Ghana in the Kumasi regional headquarters marked their 65th anniversary at the Soka Gakkai International centre at meduma on Sunday.

The young men division was formed in 1951 by the then President of the Soka Gakkai, President Josei Toda in Japan to help propagate Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism to achieve true happiness for all mankind.
Soka Gakkai  international is a religious organization whose objective is  promoting peace, culture, and education based on the life-affirming Philosophy of Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism.

Buddhism is a way of life with the assertion that life is the fundamental force or power in everything that lives and dies and by invoking the name of that force or power inherent in us we  activate our inner potentials for our happiness, the anniversary was basically to explain to the public the meaning of NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO, the name of the  LIFE inherent  in  us.

NAM means reverence or devotion to your own happiness and that of others
MYOHO means mystic law, that which is beyond comprehension or is very wonderful
RENGE means cause and effect that whatever you do, you get the effect.
KYO means manifestation or sound.

Among the many people who were invited to the meeting were Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo, a chartered accountant, farmer and a social commentator. In a brief message to the youth members Mr. Kusi Boafo hailed the teachings of Buddhism to the extent that he said "if a member of Soka Gakkai International should become president of Ghana, Ghana would be better managed socially and  economically because the Buddhists have  profound respect  for the dignity of life-based on the law of cause and effect."
