Ghana Police wants 'wee' legalised

The Drug Law Enforcement Unit of the Ghana Police has supported the call to legalize cannabis, popularly referred to as 'Wee',

The Head of the Unit, David Selom Hukportie made this known on a  TV3 show claiming there is no
criminal justice coming in to assist

The drug issue has moved away from being a problem to being a real security issue and to solve  the  challenges confronting the state in battling the fight, a lecturer at the department of Sociology School at the University of Ghana Dr.Samson Obed Appiah, recommended  tackling the problem at the community level where locals in the communities should be looked at firstly from the point that they are involved in the production indirectly or encourage the production of the substance. it has become a source of income for our youth so the police are recommending it to be legalized.
